We are delighted that Anthony Milne is free from the
bricks and mortar which have held him captive for such a long time.
We hope that now Anthony will be free to determine his own life
and find his way to deal with the trauma he has endured
from the hands of those who falsely claim to 'care' for him.

Penalise the doctors
Wednesday, November 18, 2009
BEFORE inflicting charges on medical card-holders, Health Minister Mary Harney should be aware that overprescribing is usually a doctor’s fault and not that of the patient.
Prescriptions are quite often an ineffective burden on both patients and taxpayers. If the medical profession had a solution-focused outlook, then people would be cured within a year instead of being told to take tablets for the rest of their lives. It is for these reasons that doctors, and not patients, need to be penalised. Dr Florence Craven Maynooth Co Kildare

Response by Mary Maddock.
Dear Sir,I would like to endorse Dr.Florence Craven's excellent letter on Wednesday the 18th by quoting the following people:"Formally when religion was strong and science weak, men mistook magic for medicine; now, when science is strong and religion weak, men mistake medicine for magic." Thomas Szasz.
"Nature cures, not the physician...let your food be your medicine." Hippocrates
"The doctor of the future will dispense no drugs, but will interest his patients in prevention." Thomas Edison
"Every nation practicing western medicine is on the brink of bankruptcy" (author unknown)
Let us get back to the real sources of good health and wellbeing which are much more cost effective and better for all of us.
Yours,
Mary Maddock
